A tough defeat for the A team in a hard thought semi-final. Icknield started the brighter and put on the early pressure with Luke Green going close very early on. Watling were unable to put any pressure on Icknield and the A team took the lead as Luke Green ran clear of the defence to slot the ball past the Watling keeper. The midfield of Callum Alderson, Callum Waldock, Billy Patterson and Tyler Farrugia didn’t give Watling a second to settle and Icknield were unlucky to go into the break only one up. The second half started badly with an unfortunate rebound setting up Watling for an equalizer and a putting Icknield onto the back foot, Alexander Skeclay and Ciaran Vines defended manfully but another close range effort sealed the victory for Watling. A disappointing result but the boys played well and will now concentrate and securing the league title.
